My dear Mr. Redfield:–
Pray do not think that you are adding to my burdens by proposing to discuss large matters of public business. I shall be most pleased to confer with you and the gentlemen you name. It occurs to me that you might prefer to come after the House has adjourned for the Holidays. Would you kindly let me know how soon it would be convenient to have the conference? I would wish to hold it, if possible, in Trenton.
Cordially yours,
Woodrow Wilson
