Text
Lieutenant-Colonel Ochs, I salute you!
Accept my heartiest congratulations. I’m too delighted to express myself sensibly:
O! Mother dear! O! Mother dear!
Look what you went and done!
Raised an army in a year
To fight the dam’ old Hun.
Two lieutenants of Cavalree
A captain – and – what other?
Grew upon your family tree
A charming wee God-Mother.
And now you add unto your line
Lieutenant-Kernels, one.
Oh, Mother mine O! Mother mine!
Look what you went and done!
