My dear Anna-Marie,

From day to day, I had to postpone writing to you; but I have only now found a few minutes spare time. They have kept me terribly busy here in Army!

In the first place I want to thank you for coming to the city to see me - I'm was awfully glad to be able to spend those days with you, especially as they will, no doubt, be the last for a little time. And I also want to thank you for the cushion - it is certainly a great comfort to me.

I'm always glad to hear from you - many thanks for your letter & postal. I'm also glad to hear that you are well, as well as the children.

Well, we have no orders as yet although it is positive now that we will go to Spartanburg, So. Carolina. I guess we won't leave this week, however.

The parade was very interesting. Lots of fruit, candy & smokes were given us on the march - it was very fine!

Saturday, as you know, Luechow met me here in camp. We had supper in the Strand Roof Garden, then saw "The Man Who Came Back" at the Playhouse Theatre. It was very interesting & well acted. It reminded me very much of "Experience." Do you remember, we saw that in the Majestic? After the show we had a bite in the Kaiser Keller (42nd St.) & the took the 12:30 train to B.B. The Franke family were exceedingly nice to me. Sunday morning we went bathing in the canal. The 1:01 train brought me back to the city.

Last Friday & yesterday eve I had supper with Father at Luechows. I always enjoy the meals very much as you can imagine. Friday we will meet again.

I am going to meet Luisschen to -night down-town for supper. I have a pass until 6:- to-morrow morning.

Here comes work again, so I must close again, but will write another letter very soon.

Please remember me to all & give my love to Paul & Rhoda. Don't worry about me, dear, as I am getting along first rate.

Love lots,

Otto
