My own darling

I am so happy over this good letter from Stockton that I must hurry it on to you, for I know it will relieve your mind too. It is certainly a white letter day that has brought me two such letters as this and the one from you this morning. I could almost hug the postman. That was truly a wonderful letter of yours, sweetheart. Ah, how I love you,—for it and for everything! I am sure it would make me happy to think of your love in any extremity of trouble.

I am also very happy at the repeated good reports from you;— it is delightful to feel that you are really enjoying it, and that it is all so successful.

But I must not write long today (I sent a document last night!) for I have been very busy with the mails and the sewing, and now I am anxious to get away (Was interrupted here by a visitor (!)) before people begin to call, and enjoy this wonderful day.

—It is now or never for that walk! With love and haste,

Your own Eileen

Keep Stockton 's letter for me. – Got caught after all – have had four visitors since signing this!
