My darling,
Your telegram from Kansas City has just arrived, to our great satisfaction. I was, at the moment, reading the speech at the breakfast table. I think it was perfect! Am very happy to know that it was "a great success." Be sure to tell me in each telegram things like that.
We are about starting to Sea Girt, so I haven't time for a long letter this morning. I am sending this off in a hurry to make perfectly sure of your getting Jamie Porter's address, for you know I forgot to give it to you. After all it is -
"Mrs. Ole. Candles, 2331 Thompson Of Los Angeles." Tell her I am sending her some lovely pictures of the girls. The photos came day before yesterday and are enchanting.
We have a wonderful day for our trip and are going to have a "real good time." Nothing had happened of course since you left. We are all very well. It is good to have the girls back to relieve the loneliness. I think of you all the time and love you beyond all words.
Last night I drank with the Fords at Peacock Inn; just the three of us; I had a delightful evening talking politics to Mr. Ford! He has been asked to write an article about you, including both your personality and you politics; I forget for which magazine. I went to see what the Peacock Inn would charge us by the week and it was more than the "Inn"! So that is off my mind. I was afraid that if it was much cheaper we ought to go there. My rock picture is rather stunning Mrs. [Howe] thinks. I am trying to get courage to send it next winter to the Phila. Exhibition. With love impossible from all of us and above all from me. I am, my darling as ever your devoted little wife,
Eileen.
