Text
Lyme,
My own darling,
I forgot in my haste to mention one little matter of importance, and that is Julia Hodge's wedding. You will want to write - I believe - possibly you may be able to, possibly you may be able to go to Riverdale on the 8th. I have sent a present; it is a little picture by Van Laer - a beauty! It seemed silly to get silver for those millionaires. This was framed already in a very handsome rich, gold frame with a shadow box, so that it makes quite - a handsome present. The frame alone was $20.00! It was $75.00 framed. I knew of course that under all the circumstances, we had to do it well.
I had it sent up here and made a lovely copy of it for myself!! So it has just gone off today. It is a beautiful little bit of Autumn gold; Keats' "mirrored tinge of sober gold."
I enclose the wedding card,
With devoted love. I am always and altogether -
Your own,
Eileen
